Our Rose has passed
Rose, our dear Saint Bernard, passed on Monday 4/11.  We are so very sad that she was not able to spend more time with us before passing over the Rainbow Bridge.  While at Potbelly Manor Rose was a joy to all who spent time with her.  She had many fans.  Kisses til we meet again Rosie.

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Last week our beloved duck Aflac passed at the age of 12.  Aflac was part of a group of 5 ducks who came to Potbelly Manor about 10 years ago.  She was the last of the group to pass.  We will miss your gentle nature Aflac!

Gearing up for the Pet Expo!
We're shoveling out from all this snow and making preparations for the 2011 Pet Expo http://www.riconvention.com/18th-annual-ri-pet-show-tica-cat-show/.  We will be in booth #309-just look (and listen) for the cow car.

We've ordered tshirts and will have those for sale at a very reasonable price.  Liz will be giving card readings and we will be taking names for a free drawing-winner gets to ride in the cow car during the next parade!  What's better than that!!!

Our booth is THE place to visit at the Pet Expo so get out of your igloos everyone and come to the Pet Expo!!!

A new year/planning for the Pet Expo
It's 2011.  A new year of caring for unwanted potbelly pigs and other critters, doing what we do best.  "Press on" as Audrey says.  We hold the memories of critters who passed in 2010 and prior close to our hearts and concentrate on the tasks in front of us; the joys of being part of the daily dramas that play out among the animals.  JD, one of our elder pigs, continues to harbor his crush on Amelia, who will have none of it and sticks close to her brother Benjamin.  Rachel, now 13 months old, continues to be  filled with boundless energy and mischief, much to the consternation of Amelia, Benjamin and JD; in their elder years they would prefer not to have a young 'un jumping on them.

Pearl's piglets Hope and Harley are growing exponentially and are as big as their mother despite not being a year old yet.  Hope, who came close to dying during her spay surgery, may come close to the size of Grammie Paige.  YIKES.  She has developed quite a dominant and stubborn personality and one day mom and grandma blocked her in the barn for a "time out".

Ariel is not pleased that Normand is home and has been pooping on his doorstep to show her disapproval.  George, the rascal kitty, is up to his usual shenanigans.  We've had a lot of snow and you would think that an all-white kitty would blend in but not George!  Poor George was mistakenly endowed with white fur which he neither can nor wishes to maintain in pristine condition.  He can be easily spotted in the snow sporting his dirty head and miscellaneous patches of who knows what.

PET EXPO:  Coming soon!  February 5th and 6th-a few short weeks away!  We will have tshirts for sale this year!  We're also considering bringing Ariel for a visit.  The cow car will be featured again this year and we are toying with a new booth design to better accomodate everything and everyone.  We will have a contest this year as well-folks can sign up for a free drawing to win a ride in the cow car in the next parade!

We would welcome volunteers as always!  Call the farm at 295-4241 and we'll be happy to put you to work!
